New faces, new events, same quality
For this issue of Headline I'm very pleased to address
readers in my new role as the HKCEC's Deputy Managing
Director, a new challenge I took up on 1 March.
Having been with the Centre for over 13 years now,
I'm particularly pleased that from my day-to-day
interactions with clients from a vast range of industries
and business sectors, I've become familiar with
their needs and expectations. I'm looking forward
to working with existing and new clients in my new
role, and I can assure all our readers that I'll
be doing my utmost to ensure that the HKCEC's senior
management and staff continue to offer you the highest
quality professional services possible.
We are very excited that a number of new international
exhibition organisers and trade fairs have lined
up to stage their exhibitions and trade fairs
at the HKCEC in 2007, which will expand our portfolio
of major international events even further. All
four new shows have recognised that Hong Kong
is the ideal hub for reaching potential buyers,
and that the HKCEC offers the perfect combination
of location, expertise and service quality to
guarantee the success of their events.
First up in 2007 was Hong Kong Mode Lingerie,
organised by French company Eurovet from 3 to
4 April, which focused both on international lingerie
and beachwear brands and high-quality fibres and
fabrics. In July, Messe Frankfurt will launch
Senior Lifestyle Asia at the Centre after
seeing huge opportunities for an integrated fair
catering to the needs of the older portion of
the region's population. On a more specialist
theme, September's Rail Solutions Asia
(run by the UK's TDH Exhibitions) will bring together
executives and buyers from one of the region's
growth industries, while Game Time International
Expo, organised by GTI Magazine for November,
will introduce game machines and products from
Taiwan's famed gaming industry to the wider Asian
market.
