Electronics blockbuster
The Hong Kong Electronics Fair is always one of the
HKCEC's biggest and most popular exhibitions, and its
latest edition from 13 to 16 October was no exception.
Attendance over the four days hit 53,772, a rise of
11.35% from last year, with over half of the visitors
hailing from overseas. In fact, overseas visitors gathered
from 145 countries and regions across the globe, indicating
the attraction of this fair worldwide, and reflecting
the fact that it is the most important fair of its kind
in Asia. They were able to browse goods on display by
2,029 exhibitors coming from 23 countries & regions.
Studies have shown that the importance of this Fair
goes well beyond the benefits to those in the electronics
industry. Around HK$500 million of tourism revenue is
estimated to have arisen from visitors to the Fair this
year alone, and with its trade attendance continuing
to grow, we expect to continue reporting good things
about it in many future issues.
