With more and more of our customers saying they want internet
connectivity for themselves or their clients at all times,
the HKCEC has upgraded its IT infrastructure yet again,
this time to provide users of the Centre with a comprehensive
Wireless LAN system. The new wireless connectivity has
been set up to work across all five exhibition halls at
the Centre and the entry concourses adjacent to them,
as well as in the Atrium, the Grand Hall, the Convention
Hall and their adjacent Foyers. Now, customers in these
locations with laptop or mobile phone wireless capability
can check email, send and receive messages and surf the
web whenever they need to, without needing to find phone
jacks or wait for other internet users to make some space.
Says Cliff Wallace, the HKCEC's Managing Director, "When
it comes to new investment like this, it's all about making
life easier for our customers. And that means making business
