The
long downslide in utilised foreign direct investment (FDI)
in China was finally halted in March 2000, when FDI rose 10.3%
from the previous month. Contracted investment was up by 27%

signed on 22 August 2000 between the Chinese Academy of Sciences,
the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Anson Biotechnology
Enterprise Inc. Cross-boundary research ties bring practical
