Cyberport
- Hong Kong's flagship IT project |
Site
work is well on schedule at Hong Kong's Cyberport, a 24-hectare
HK$15.8 billion (US$2 billion) plus project that by 2003 will
be welcoming local and overseas information technology companies
as tenants. Part of the Government's "Digital 21" strategy,
Cyberport is centred on an integrated cluster of state-of-the-art
information infrastructure facilities.
The whole
site will enjoy broadband connectivity - with pipes to the
world beyond. There will be provision for leased lines and
Internet protocol voice traffic, while satellite stations
will provide global connectivity and content further enriched
by video on demand.
Providing
unmatched digital infrastructure in a world-class working
and living environment, Cyberport will encourage cross-fertilisation
of ideas and technology and help take the whole community
at light speed into the digital age.

star, at the Opening Ceremony of the Hong Kong Film
Archive |
The
ultra high-tech Hong Kong Film Archive opened in early
January 2001 with the first of three spectacular celebratory
programmes - an exhibition entitled "Hong Kong on the
Silver Screen." Film extracts, film stills and replicas
of classic Hong Kong 50's and 60's film sets vividly explore
the lifestyle changes and social development Hong Kong
people have experienced during the past hundred years.
The exhibition was followed by the retrospective "Asian
Film Archive Treasures" and a major film symposium. For

study facility visit the Archive's website at www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/CulturalService/HKFA |
