Result announcement of “A Landmark for Success” Drawing Competition 2012

“A Landmark for Success” Drawing Competition 2012, organised by Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd, was held successfully at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (“HKCEC”) on 3 March 2012 (Saturday). A total of 126 students from 11 member schools of the Wanchai District Headmasters’ Conference participated in the event: 80 students from six secondary schools and 46 students from five primary schools.   The Drawing Competition aimed to provide an opportunity for students in the neighbourhood to visit the HKCEC and through looking at the architecture and interior design from an artistic view, appreciate the contribution it has made in the Hong Kong economy.

The judging took place on 9 March 2012.  The standard of the drawings was very high, making the judging a challenging task. Please click here for the results. The Award Presentation Ceremony will be held on 19 May 2012 at the HKCEC.

Central - Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link

The new Central-Wanchai Bypass & Island East Corridor Link construction by HKSAR Government is currently underway along the north shoreline of Hong Kong Island.  Preliminary work has begun in mid 2010 and the project is targeted to complete by 2017.  For details, please refer to the HKSAR Highways Department website.

In this regard, a series of construction works have been scheduled to occur around HKCEC, including the relocation of chiller pump system piping, and ultimately bridge relocation and reclamation of the water channel between Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the HKCEC for road and MTR tunnelling.

As the various stages of work is continuously subject to change, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd. (HML) is working very closely with the HKSARG appointed project teams to minimise inconvenience to users and visitors of HKCEC.
